“Amazon Founder Jeff Bezos Adds $79 Million Neighbor’s Mansion to ‘Billionaire Bunker’ Collection”
Jeff Bezos, the billionaire founder of Amazon and the world’s third-richest individual with a staggering net worth of $156 billion, has expanded his already impressive real estate portfolio by acquiring a $79 million mansion on Florida’s exclusive “Billionaire Bunker” island. This acquisition comes hot on the heels of his purchase of the neighboring property for a substantial $68 million, just two months earlier.
The recently acquired mansion, boasting seven bedrooms and fourteen bathrooms, initially hit the market at an extravagant $85 million back in May. Despite the high price tag, Bezos managed to negotiate a 7.1% discount on the property’s purchase price, as reported by Bloomberg, the source that originally broke the story.
This opulent estate, sprawling over 19,064 square feet, is nestled on 1.84 acres of land on the man-made barrier island known as Indian Creek Island. The island itself is famous for its exclusivity, featuring its own local government, a mayor, and even its private police force, ensuring a secure and secluded haven for its wealthy inhabitants. The mansion is adorned with lavish amenities, including a pool, a theater, a library, a wine cellar, maid quarters, a sauna, and an extensive six-car garage.
Indian Creek Island, the backdrop for Bezos’s recent real estate acquisitions, comprises approximately 40 waterfront properties, offering breathtaking views and an idyllic, high-end lifestyle. The island also boasts an 18-hole golf course spanning 294 acres and features Brazilian teak docks, perfectly suited for luxury vessels, including Bezos’s $500 million superyacht, Koru, renowned for its helicopter landing pad, swimming pool, and a mermaid figurehead that bears a striking resemblance to his partner, Lauren Sanchez.
Notably, the island’s population is astonishingly small, with just 81 residents, among whom you’ll find notable figures like Tom Brady, Ivanka Trump, Jared Kushner, and billionaire car dealer Norman Braman. With this latest real estate acquisition, Bezos’s foothold in the high-end real estate market is further solidified, with his Indian Creek holdings alone amassing a staggering value of $147 million.
